AUDITION MATERIALS here
We're looking for performers who are musically capable, curious, collaborative, and excited to be a part of this unique show! You do not need to be a professional singer, dancer, or actor to audition. All interested in auditioning will need to register at this link HERE .
You may choose to audition as one of the following kinds of cast members:
Either way, register at this link HERE to audition. You will still be asked to attend the Oct 13 call backs as we will be working on our finale. The information below applies to either situation.
Here are the steps you need to take to be considered for the cast:
1) Read the following audition information as well as "About the Show."
2) Sign up HERE for an audition time on ONE of the following days, October 11 or 12. Be available for callbacks Tuesday, October 13, 6-8:30pm. Pay attention to emails that will follow between now and auditions.
3) Take a deeper dive into the audition materials found HERE to make decisions about your solo song choice and to practice one of the three monologues provided in the folder of materials.
4) Fill out this questionnaire HERE before your audition day.
What to Expect...
One song of your choice:
You may choose a song that ties into the theme of relationships/attachment theories or just something you feel comfortable singing.
It is possible the song you choose for auditions will be included in this musical review.
You may also choose from this playlist or view for ideas.
Prepare up to 2 minutes, roughly 32 bars, of a song.
Be ready to share a backing track/karaoke video (You Tube preferred) of choice and know the time stamp for your 2 minutes of singing.
Choose the most vocally and emotionally compelling part of the song rather than forcing yourself to start strictly at measure one.
See more information below about the show when considering your song.
Script reading:
Choose a brief monologue from the show. Available HERE .
This is an opportunity for us to see how you engage with text and character. We are curious about your interpretation as opposed to any pre-conceived character.
You do not have to memorize the monologue but may want to consider doing so. We want to see your facial expressions and hear you project your voice. It is best not to have your head down in the script.
Brief movement sequence (Tues., Oct. 13, 6-8:30pm):
You'll learn and perform a short dance/movement combination. No formal dance background is required. We're interested in your ability to learn movement and perform it.
This additional session will be held for those invited to callbacks occurring Oct. 13, 6-8:30pm.
“Dog Days Are Over” originally by Florence + The Machine is the song that will be used for this portion of the auditions.
A PDF of the score is included in this folder. Please do not make copies of the PDF and share it with others.
The song may be listened to HERE.
Dancing is an optional skill for cast members, moving to different positions on the stage to music is required.
We are looking for those who can follow directions and contribute positively to the group.
Part singing (Tues., Oct. 13, 6-8:30pm):
You'll learn and perform a brief portion of the show finale. Take time before this evening to find the voice part that is most comfortable for you in the following song: provided soon.
Rehearsal and performance information
Potential cast members will share their availability for rehearsals and performance as a part of the audition process.
Expect to have rehearsals on one or all of the following days of the week between October 20-February 26:
One of these days per week and sometimes all of them: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Friday.
Cast members' schedules will be considered. You will share that information when you register to audition HERE (starting Sept 11).
Solo vocal coaching may occur on other days.
Dress & tech rehearsals will occur the week of February 21-26.
Rehearsal locations will be shared with the schedule following casting.
Show is scheduled for February 27, 2027 at Titan Hollow.
About the Show
Through music and storytelling, Please See Attached is a musical revue exploring the many ways we relate to one another. Drawing on attachment science, the show will explore a variety of romantic relationships and encounters through a musical lens.
The script is composed of true stories from anonymous contributors. Actors share the stories in first person as if they are their own reflections. The dialogue includes opinions and commentary from the cast which playfully connects to and challenges attachment theories. Popular songs from various artists and genres are integrated with dialogue making a musical revue unlike any other. This collaboratively created show will be directed by seasoned performer and director, Dr. Val Flamini. The truth-based script, the music, and the unique space at Titan Hollow are all meant to elicit curiosity and insight about how our relationships impact who we are and how who we are impacts our relationships.
